5 INDIAN MUSIC BANDS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT!
We know, India is well known for its classical and folk music, Indian rock is a genre of popular music that incorporates elements of Indian classical music and mainstream rock. India itself has produced bands in various styles of rock music, from soft rock and roll and rock pop, to hard rock and metal. The current Indian rock scene has a larger following than ever and may soon become recognized in the international so here are five Indian Music Bands you should know about-
· Since its formation in 1991, Parikrama: A rock and roll from Delhi, Parikrama has been reaching the playlists of music lovers. Parikrama, nearly a 28-year-old band, is still one of the most electrifying bands to watch live in India and can hardly match their quintessential essence of classic rock.
· Another great music band to swear by is the Indian Ocean, with Susmit Sen, Rahul Ram, Amit Kilam, Tuheen Chakravorty and Himanshu Joshi as members of the band. In 2009, former band member Asheem Chakravart died. The band is widely known in India as the pioneers of the fusion rock genre and was formed in New Delhi in 1990.
· Agnee,the Indian rock band was formed in Pune and released its first album in 2007. The band has an individual style of composing and performing Classic rock, Pop and Indian influences and Carnatic and Hindustani classical influences. .
· An Indian Hindi rock band from Delhi, The Local Train is not a new name to music lovers. The band is widely known for its emphatic lyrics, which are a blend of Urdu and Hindi. The band members of the Local Train are Ramit Mehra, Raman Negi, Sahil Sarin and Paras Thakur.
· Kabir Café, Neeraj Arya’s Kabir Café is another great music band that has successfully built its reputation on the music scene. The neo-folk music band presents in a contemporary style the poetry of 15th century bhakti saint Kabir, drawing from Classical Carnatic and Indian Folk combined with Rock and Reggaee.
