An amazing Canadian singer and songwriter, Shawn Mendes is one of the most popular artists in the Hollywood music industry right now. One of his latest songs that became everyone’s favourite in no time is ‘Senorita’ . The perfect combination of lyrics and music made the song a total hit.

“I love it when you call me señorita

I wish I could pretend I didn’t need ya

But every touch is ooh la la la

It’s true, la la la…”

The song is about a couple who just met with an amazing chemistry between the two.

“Land in Miami

The air was hot from summer rain

Sweat dripping off me

Before I even knew her name, la la la

It felt like ooh la la la

Yeah, no”

The song moves on to the chase going on between the two. The feeling when the lover calls you by name is being talked about again and again.

“All along I’ve been coming for ya

And I hope it meant something to ya

Call my name, I’ll be coming for ya

Coming for ya, coming for ya, coming for ya”

The rhythm of the song catches everyone’s attention and before you know it you’ll be humming to its tunes.

Another amazing song, one of my personal favourites include ‘Stitches’. The song is about a heartbroken person who recently broke up with his partner. The song starts with, “I thought that I’ve been hurt before

But no one’s ever left me quite this sore

Your words cut deeper than a knife

Now I need someone to breathe me back to life”

The song talks about the intense pain and suffering at the hands of a lover. Stitches are the result of the deep love that the person had for the lover.

“You watch me bleed until I can’t breathe

I’m shaking, falling onto my knees

And now that I’m without your kisses

I’ll be needing stitches

Tripping over myself

Aching, begging you to come help

And now that I’m without your kisses

I’ll be needing stitches”

The song also challenges the idea that girls are the ones hurt in a relationship. Instead, in this song, it’s the guy who is hurt because of the toxic relationship.

“Just like a moth drawn to a flame

Oh, you lured me in I couldn’t sense the pain

Your bitter heart cold to the touch

Now I’m gonna reap what I sow

I’m left seeing red on my own”

One can’t unseen the pain in the powerful lyrics of the song which is further heightened by the sensational voice of Mendes.
