Imagine dragons. A name which in itself is intriguing enough to actually make to Imagine Dragons.

The band’s songs make you want to dance and cry. They talk of all sorts of emotions, which tend to connect to your very soul, or they become a tether to grab onto in your tough times. It is seldom that music can invoke these feelings in you and Imagine Dragons is a master at this.

Some of the best songs by the band in my humble opinion are the ones that have been a great motivator for me.

Dream

Oh, we all are living in a dream
But life ain’t what it seems
Oh, everything’s a mess
And all these sorrows I have seen
They lead me to believe
That everything’s a mess
But I wanna dream
I wanna dream
Leave me to dream

The chorus of this song has always been a favourite of mine. The lyrics are on point and very true for the true nature of life. Be it mine or anyone else’s. We all go through a time when our lives are a mess, yet we all keep trying, keep dreaming.

The song captures this essence of always dreaming for the best very well and the slow pace of the vocals matches the lyrics perfectly for this song.

It’s Time to Begin

I don’t ever wanna let you down
I don’t ever wanna leave this town
’Cause after all
This city never sleeps at night
It’s time to begin, isn’t it?
I get a little bit bigger, but then I’ll admit
I’m just the same as I was
Now don’t you understand
That I’m never changing who I am
It’s time to begin, isn’t it?

This song is one that never fails to motivate me. The lyrics talk about how even if a journey is difficult filled with hardships, you keep going onwards.

The lines It’s time to begin signify that we all have to start out somewhere, and it is followed by the lines, I get a little bigger, Signifying that we all grow our individual paths. Even if we do grow as humans, some parts of us might never change and that what this song is about.

Demons

I want to hide the truth, I want to shelter you
But with the beast inside, there’s nowhere we can hide
No matter what we breed, we still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come, this is my kingdom come
When you feel my heat, look into my eyes
It’s where my demons hide, it’s where my demons hide
Don’t get too close, it’s dark inside
It’s where my demons hide, it’s where my demons hide

Admittedly this is a sad song but then again the truth behind the lyrics is undeniable. We all have demons, we all fight them. And most of us don’t talk about these demons.

Even people might not like the band sometimes, the Bands music is amazing, the songs are ones which we can connect to and that is what matters when it comes to music.
