“Love” is beautiful and simple yet the most misunderstood emotion. The millennial generation has misunderstood love for possession and a sense of acquirement. You cannot hold back someone to love you like the way you love them unless they have those feelings towards you. Looking at the scientific meaning and approach of love, it is more of a drive rather than an emotion. A drive which focuses on our behaviour to achieve or win the person whom we love. In the pursuit of winning the other person, you end up feeling different other emotions and associate love with compassion, surprise, ecstasy and happiness.
When you love someone, everything about your day is dependent on that person. You have this urge of doing everything that will make them happy and not forget about all the morning calls when you wake just to check on them and the late-night talk to sleep calls…There is a famous saying that “Love is blind”, irrespective of how good a person is when the connection will come within your inner self then is the time the loving emotion will generate thereafter followed by other emotions.
Talking about Love in today’s time Bollywood and the entertainment industry has completely redefined the phrase of love. Be it through movies, songs, or the portrayal of the emotion as a whole. As far as music was concerned in the ’60s and ’70s which was the golden era, love then was defined as more of a commitment and a responsibility. Gradually with time as people evolved in their thinking and perception, the analogy of love has also changed.
Since we have had this intense discussion about Love let us also enlighten ourselves with how music acts as a perfect expression of love with its artistic and melodious formation of words and music. Lyrics like “Pehli Nazar mein Kaisa jaadu kar Diya, tera ban baitha hein Mera jiya”, indicates the side effects of love at first sight. Even songs like “Pehla Nasha…Pehla Khumman”, “Kaise bataau Tujhe…dil mera kya keh Raha” and “Kuch Toh Hua hein .. Kuch ho Gaya hein Do char din se lagta hein …Sab Kuch Alag hein Sab Kuch Naya hein” are also some of the songs which tell us about the beauty of love at first sight and how we experience those butterflies in our stomachs remembering about the ones whom we love.
We all know that love has got no specific language and apart from Bollywood songs, some English songs have made their way to winning the audience’s hearts by its lyrics and the ability to connect with the emotions. “Every night in my dreams, I see you, I feel you, That is how I know you go on”, a famous song by Celine Dion which can also be called the Love anthem. The song tells us about the rising emotions between people who are madly in love. “I found a love for me, Darling just dive right in and follow my lead, and follow my lead”. Just like its title the song is “Perfect” with its emotions and expressions of love.
Summing up, Love is indeed a very vast and a beautiful topic to talk on. Below attached is a playlist for all of you who are love-struck or absolutely enjoy the feeling of being ‘in love’ and even those who have been in love at least once in their life.
